SEPARATE FROM YOUR PERMIT · START EARLY

Tell your electricity retailer.

Going solar? Ask them to check the meter and the account setting.
Both need to suit your agreed solar arrangement.

What is MOC?

MOC means Meter Option Change. If your retailer account needs to move from SRLP to AMI metering, your current retailer submits the request to SP. Your installer helps you prepare—but does not submit the retailer’s transaction.

If the AMI account option is already active, another MOC may not be needed. Ask the retailer to confirm; do not request a duplicate change.

1 · HARDWARE

The meter on the wall

SP and your LEW check the physical meter: its identity, type and suitability for the required solar import/export arrangement. Meter work may be needed.

2 · SOFTWARE / ACCOUNT SETTING

How the readings are used

Your retailer checks whether the account uses AMI actual half-hourly readings or the SRLP load-profile option. MOC changes this account option.

A smart meter does not prove the account is on AMI. A meter can already be installed while the account still uses a load profile. The retailer confirms the account record; a meter photo or app screen alone does not.

What do AMI and SRLP mean? Two different ways of using meter readings

AMI — Advanced Metering Infrastructure: the smart-meter system; the AMI account option uses actual half-hourly consumption readings.

SRLP — Static Residential Load Profile: a standard household pattern is used to spread monthly consumption into estimated half-hourly amounts for settlement. It is an account option, not proof of which meter is on the wall.

Why ask about MOC? For your agreed solar setup, the retailer and LEW need the correct account option as well as suitable metering. If the account is on SRLP and AMI is required, ask the retailer to submit that change.

“Software” here means the account / settlement record—not an app download or a homeowner firmware update. Physical meter work, MOC, SP permits and export registration are different tasks.

Three simple steps

  1. Find your retailer. Check who supplies your electricity on your bill or contract. An SP-branded bill can still bill for another retailer.
  2. Contact their customer-service team. Ask them to check both the meter and the SRLP / AMI account option. Confirm your plan supports the solar arrangement.
  3. Keep the written reply. Ask for the request reference, any meter visit, fees and the effective date. A request being sent is not proof it is complete.

Do this alongside the permit process. This guide does not add a fixed number of days to your permit estimate.

Who should I call?

The directory covers all seven providers currently listed in the residential OEM directory, plus SP Services separately. It is not a list of every business-only electricity licensee.

Contact numbers checked against official provider pages on 5 November 2026. These are customer-service / enquiry channels, not dedicated MOC numbers. Plan availability and eligibility must be confirmed directly.

What should I say?

Use this message by phone or in your retailer’s official email / contact portal.

What information should I have ready?
  • Your latest bill / contract and the correct SP or MSSL account reference.
  • The premises address and postcode, plus the account holder’s authorisation if required.
  • The meter number and a clear, safely taken meter photo.
  • Your installer / LEW contact and approximate installation timing.

Provide details only through the verified retailer’s official channel. This Sunollo page does not collect, upload or submit any of them.

SEPARATE STEP · EXPORT PAYMENTS

NER: getting paid for excess solar.

NER means Net Export Rebate. It is the application to SP Services for payment for surplus solar sent to the grid—not a permit or a fixed payment rate.

BUYING AT SP’S REGULATED TARIFF

SCT · bill credit

Simplified Credit Treatment pays the regulated tariff less grid charges.

BUYING FROM AN ELECTRICITY RETAILER

ECIS · market-based payment

Enhanced Central Intermediary Scheme pays prevailing half-hourly wholesale prices, which vary—not your retail purchase rate.

What do I need to do?Prepare → sign → get confirmation
  1. Ask Sunollo and your LEW to prepare it early. The LEW confirms your scheme, metering and required attachments.
  2. Check and sign. Provide the correct account details privately. Your LEW can submit the NER application through SP’s eBusiness portal on your behalf.
  3. Keep SP’s confirmation. Ask for the scheme, payment method and effective date. Check your first credit or payment.

Have your utility account number, premises details and system capacity ready. The LEW supplies technical / meter details. GST-status evidence and a separate GIRO form may be needed, depending on the application and payment method.

MOC completion or an SP inspection pass does not, by itself, activate export payments. No NER processing time is added to this planner.

MOC is not the final solar approval.

Keep these separate:

  • Retailer / MOC: the account’s metering option.
  • SP / LEW: suitable meter work, technical clearances, inspection and authorised turn-on.
  • NER / export payments: SP’s confirmed payment scheme and effective date.

Do not assume a completed MOC means export payments have started—or that you may switch the solar system on.

Sources and notes for the project team

The residential directory displayed seven providers when checked: Flo, Geneco, Keppel Electric, PacificLight, Sembcorp Power, Senoko Energy and Tuas Power. Flo’s own support page describes home supply as coming soon; the directory listing is not a promise that it accepts new home accounts.

SP’s market-participant manual, section 3.9, defines a residential MOC as a retailer-initiated switch between AMI and SRLP. For a customer buying at SP’s regulated tariff, use SP’s metering / solar enquiry process rather than describing it as an OEM retailer MOC.

The hardware / account-setting distinction follows OEM’s metering-options guidance, which permits an installed advanced meter to be used with either actual interval data or a load profile. The solar-specific action here is practical guidance: the retailer and LEW must confirm the applicable arrangement. No universal fee or completion time is promised.
